Common uses
This medication is used to treat certain fungal infections (e.g., athlete's foot).
Before using
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with this medicine. Inform your doctor or of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. Additional monitoring of your dose or may be needed if you are taking other antibiotics, sucralfate, theophylline products, warfarin, cyclosporine, glyburide, phenytoin, clozapine, live vaccines, probenecid, ropinirole, or quinapril.
Directions
This medication is for use on the skin only and is usually applied once a day for four weeks. Clean and dry the affected area as directed, then apply a small amount of the medication on the skin to cover the area and surrounding skin. Cover with a bandage only if directed to do so by your doctor. Wash hands after applying the drug. Use this medication as prescribed for the full treatment time. Do not use large amounts, apply this more often or stop using without your doctor's approval. Stopping this medication too soon may lead to ineffective treatment and the reoccurrence of your infection. Notify your doctor if the condition for which this was prescribed does not improve after 4 weeks or becomes worse.
Cautions
Before using this drug, tell your doctor your medical history, including: allergies (especially drug allergies). Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before using this medication. It is not known whether this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Possible side effects
Skin reactions such as burning, stinging, worsening of the condition, itching, rash, redness, blistering or swelling have occurred. If these persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
